You are the God of Me.

I woke up to this song. The more I listened to it, I realized that we are also a ‘city’ He’s our light, our hope when it seems hopeless, peace to the restless.

There is no one like Him and I prayed the other day with Haven, that there are GREATER things God’s going to do. Amazing things we’ve never seen. In me, in her, in our family. He’s not finished with us. He’s only just begun. He’s done so much and will continue to do those things that we get to show, and tell others about how He is working in and through us.

We are believing for greater things to be done. We are believing the God of our city is also the God of us, and He opens blinded eyes to see, heals with just one touch, calms with just one word. If He can do it for someone 2000 years ago, I KNOW He can do it for me.

He is creating within me and our family a trust, faith, and belief like we’ve never known before.

A child-like faith indeed.

Knowing clouds will rage And storms will race in

But you will be safe in my arms

Rains will pour down Waves will crash all around

But you will be safe in my arms

Story books full of fairy tales Of kings and queens and the bluest skies

My heart is torn just in knowing

You’ll someday see the truth from lies

Knowing clouds will rage And storms will race in

But you will be safe in my arms

Rains will pour down Waves will crash all around

But you will be safe in my arms

Castles they might crumble

Dreams may not come true

But you are never all alone

Because I will always Always love you

This is part of the song by Plumb. I have been praying about specific things for my kids, especially lately, and this song came to mind. The whole song is so powerful. I think of the seasons we have in life, and especially for children, it seems so much more magnified at times, yet Jesus so has them in His hand. I am learning to release things. Things or people I want to hold onto tightly. The release part seems to be sometimes by the minute, yet, it’s so freeing knowing that I am truly trusting in my Maker to protect those HE created. Wow. He will never leave us nor forsake us, just like how we see our children. I for one would like to protect them as much as I possibly can and wish I could pick and choose what they have to see or go through in their life, however, God knows what we all need and what it is going to take for us to realize fully what He wants to do in us as a result.

…what an honor to be given a gift of children. one day, hopefully more, but two sweet babies here with me, and three in heaven. and i get to show them how He loves us. how very much He loves us. how we don’t get to understand why things make us sad. how when our world is crazy, He gets to be our peace. how He sustains me and my sweet babies don’t get to see when i’m weak emotionally. i am in awe of that. of Jesus. and His perfect love for us. i get to model that and show them the REAL truth. there are no words to describe…..

It’s been awhile.

So I realize I’ve been behind, but didn’t realize I hadn’t posted anything on here in regards to my trip to NJ to see my dear friend Cherie. Gee, that was back at the end of February.

Haven was able to go with me and we had a wonderful time of relaxing, having coffee, not having an agenda. The kids played and Cherie and I got to catch up face to face like we’ve wanted to for so long, vs. a phone call or email.

We did get to go to NYC!! I so want to go back when it’s not 20 degrees and snowing, but we did spend about a half a day there, and got to see Katie Couric and U2 outside of the David Letterman show.

A definite blessing and restful time with a mentor/friend. I just love that girl.
